Drawing inspiration from the elegance and geometric forms of the Art Deco movement, the house has been thoughtfully reimagined while celebrating its architectural heritage.
Every room has undergone a comprehensive renovation, with interiors stripped back and rebuilt from the ground up. A contemporary ground floor kitchen extension introduces a subtle architectural contrast, creating a carefully considered dialogue between the home’s original character and its modern addition.
Respecting the property’s 1930s origins, the client selected Fabco steel glazing throughout the original footprint of the house. The slim steel profiles not only honour the period’s distinctive glazing aesthetic but also complement the refined Art Deco inspired material palette, allowing heritage and contemporary design to coexist seamlessly.
At the heart of the home sits its most captivating architectural feature; a striking arched staircase window overlooking the beautifully landscaped rear garden. Once framed by traditional Chesterfield leather-clad balustrades, the opening has been completely reconfigured into a crisp, minimalist architectural statement. It now accommodates one of Fabco’s largest fixed steel partitions, flooding the stairwell with natural light while creating a dramatic focal point that perfectly balances the home’s restored heritage with its contemporary vision. The client entrusted Fabco with delivering this defining architectural feature thanks to our specialist approach to bespoke steel glazing. Every arched or curved aperture is measured using millimetre accurate 3D laser scanning technology, allowing each frame to be manufactured with exceptional precision. This meticulous process ensures a flawless fit, preserving the integrity of even the most complex openings while delivering the seamless finish that bespoke architectural steel glazing demands.
